Event Description:

Many clinicians have minimal training in providing supervision before becoming a supervisor. In recent years, APA has established guidelines for supervision and has started to consider supervision as its own clinical competency. This presentation will focus on enacting these guidelines, establishing a supervisory agreement, managing common issues in supervision, and briefly discussing billing for your supervisee.

Presenter Info:

Her predoctoral internship was at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where she received specialty training in pediatric health psychology, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and disruptive behavior disorders. After graduate school, Dr. Hella has worked in private practices and at La Rabida Children’s Hospital (Chicago), where she was the psychologist on the sickle cell team and adolescent medicine team. Currently, Dr. Hella is the Director at Thriving Minds Behavioral Health, a private practice whose mission is to provide research supported therapy to children, adolescents and their families.

Specialty interests for Dr. Hella include ADHD evaluations, pediatric health psychology and parent training for behavioral concerns. Throughout Dr. Hella’s 10+ year career, she has remained committed to and supervised psychologists at all levels of training. In her current role she supervises practicum students, predoctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows and staff members using the developmental model of supervision.
